As a responsible organisation we are committed to:
- Complying with relevant Environmental legislation, approved codes of practice, standards and industry best practice
- Reducing our COČ generation by using energy reducing technology
- Reducing our consumption of natural resources and raw materials wherever possible
- Reducing, or preventing, harmful emissions to land, water and air
- Reducing waste generation as a result of our activities and where possible recycle, or re-use, waste produced
- Responsible management of water usage and prevention of unnecessary waste
- Forming partnerships with other like minded organizations and encourage existing suppliers to adopt good environmental management practice.

- Prioritising targets and setting Environmental KPIs that will support the current and future continuous improvement strategies
Responsibilities
All employees, window cleaners and office staff must recognise that they have an important part to play in ensuring the success of this policy and through positive action reduce any adverse environmental impacts, to this end all employees are encouraged to:
- Comply with all relevant Company environmental procedures and guidelines.
- Reduce waste and whenever possible re-cycle paper, cardboard etc.
- Switch off non-essential electrical equipment.
- Co-operate with the Management team in the implementation of environmental initiatives.
- Consider environmentally responsible options and how adverse environmental impacts can be minimised within the scope of their activities
This policy will be reviewed on an annual basis as a minimum requirement and updated regularly.

Purple Rhino Window Cleaning is committed to the continual improvement of its business. In 2011 we have sought advice on gaining certification to the international standard for quality management systems, ISO 9001: 2000. Our aim is to be the best National Commercial Window Cleaners, and we are 100% sure about our safe window cleaning practices carried out by our professionally trained commercial window cleaners.
We recognise that the next logical step for the business is to gain certification to ISO 14001 for our environmental management system. We have started the process by appointing an independent Chartered Environmentalist to assist us. We have conducted a number of workshops and have subsequently established a register of significant aspects and impacts, revised our environmental policy and introduced new processes and procedures. We are ensuring the buy-in of our staff by involving them in a Purple Rhino Window Cleaning 'Green Team'.
We use a system known as Quartix in all of our Commercial Window Cleaning Vans, this helps us to provide the shortest routes for our window cleaners to follow, which in turn cuts down the use of diesel and its adverse impact on the environment. Normally when cleaning windows in London for example, we would utilise an early morning start, this will also help reduce vehicle emissions greatly and cut down time spent sitting idly inside a van instead of cleaning windows.
